Brad Avakian: Starr's True Colors

test1

test2

There’s outrageous breaking news in this race. Republican Senator Bruce Starr has told a conservative radio host that he supports extreme “right-to-work” policies that would cause many of Oregon’s frontline workers to earn lower wages and benefits:

“The pure answer and clear answer is ‘yes’... Let’s let folks choose who they want to associate with, and again, I think a policy like that would create a lot more economic opportunity in our state and a lot more jobs, make Oregon a much more attractive place to do business.”

He's dead wrong. It wouldn't create more economic opportunity. In fact, “right-to-work” laws are union-busting at their worst, and would cost Oregon workers thousands of dollars per year in hard-earned wages and benefits.

John Mohlis, executive director of the Building Trades Council, put it perfectly: “It shows more urgency to re-elect Avakian. It’s certainly not in our best interest to have a labor commissioner who is anti-labor.

Fight on,

Brad
