Many Thanks to Jackson County Fair Booth Staffers
This year's Jackson County Fair booth was a success thanks to all of you who helped out. We talked with a lot of Democrats, recruited some volunteers, and distributed a lot of candidate and JCD material. The weather was cool most of the week and all of the 4-H animals were really cute.
Blue Bash Planning Underway
Yes, we're already making plans for the Jackson County Democrats Blue Bash on election night, November 6, at the Historic Ashland Armory. Mark your calendars! We need YOUR help! We are looking for a vacation home or timeshare that we can use as the Grand Prize for the drawing, which helps us raise approximately $5,000 in the election year to cover the cost of supporting local, state and national candidates and important issues on the ballot.
Do you have anything you can donate to this fabulous cause? If yes, please contact the JCD fundraising committee at email@example.com. Thank you!
Help the "Lift All Dems" Blue Crew Phone Project

Scripts, talking points and training provided. We'll get started as soon as the voter lists are updated.

Click here to find out who they are, and why we need to prevent their opponents from advancing their agendas.
The races are tight. For example:
In Massachusetts it's Elizabeth Warren: 46 to Scott Brown: 46
In Nevada it's Shelley Berkley: 43 to Dean Heller: 44
And in two other critical Senate races, recent polling also shows both Claire McCaskill (MO) and Tammy Baldwin (WI) are in a dead heat with their potential opponents.

Help Block Shell Oil Company from Drilling in the Arctic This Summer
Tell the EPA that Shell's latest bait and switch should be the last straw. Weeks away from starting the first major offshore oil drilling operations in the Arctic, Shell is pulling a major bait and switch — telling the EPA it can't meet the air pollution rules the company had already agreed to in order to get a drilling permit. Shell has known since 2010 it would have problems meeting the rules for nitrogen oxide and ammonia emissions. But their officials still told the EPA they could. Now Shell wants the EPA to weaken the rules at the last minute?

America the Beautiful: A Fire Sale for Foreign Corporations
Written by a prominent Utah physician and member of the Union of Concerned Scientists, the article discusses the international trade agreement negotiated by our government which he feels is a give away to foreign corporations. It was primarily drafted by international corporations and gives foreign corporations more rights than domestic ones. (Submitted by Don Morris, also a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists.) We will invite the audience to join a responsible grass roots organization whose purpose will be for all of us to work together to learn how to adjust to anticipated changes and teach individuals what they may do in their day-to-day lives to reduce climate change impacts.
